Welcome to The Path Forward: Relational Principles When Someone You Love is LGBTQ.

Hello, I’m Drew Berryessa, founder of A Living Letter Ministries. Our mission is to equip the Church to understand and respond to questions of sexuality from a fully biblical foundation—grounded equally in truth and love.

My approach is conversational, honest, and at times humorous, shaped by my own journey. Thirty years ago, I left a homosexual relationship and orientation. Since then, I’ve spent more than two decades in full-time ministry engaging this topic and walking alongside individuals and families navigating these realities. With close family members in the LGBTQ community, I’ve experienced firsthand both the tensions and the deep relational challenges involved—and I’ve also witnessed God’s redemptive power meeting people right in the middle of their stories.

If you’re a parent, sibling, grandparent, or friend of someone who identifies as LGBTQ, you likely feel the tension:
How do we honor Scripture’s vision for sexuality and gender while also embodying Christ’s compassion, mercy, and grace?

This series offers gospel-centered insights designed to help you build bridges, foster healing, and move forward in relationship—without compromising conviction or wounding connection.

Each video blends real stories, including my own, with practical wisdom that is sometimes humorous, always heartfelt, and focused on helping you reflect the Savior’s heart toward the person you love.

Join us as we move toward confident, compassionate engagement—and discover your path forward.

I’m Drew Berryessa, founder of A Living Letter Ministries and a passionate speaker on the intersection of biblical sexuality, church culture, and the transforming power of truth and love. My personal journey has deeply shaped both my message and my calling. Having left homosexuality in 1996, I began sharing my story in 1999, driven by a desire to help others who were navigating similar struggles. In 2004, I began working full-time in a Christian ministry dedicated to discipling individuals seeking to bring their sexuality into alignment with biblical truth.
